AIM United · In short

What is ISO 19650?

ISO 19650 is the international standard for managing information on a building project with Building Information Modelling (BIM). AIM United writes the exchange information requirements (EIR), BIM execution plans (BEP) and common data environment (CDE) rules, then audits and trains the project team. We set up ISO 19650 for clients in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the GCC, prepare Saudi government projects for EXPRO's BIM requirements, and hold ISO 19650 certification ourselves.

The problem

Everyone has a standard. Nobody follows the same one.

01 · Requirements

The EIR is last project's EIR.

Copied, renamed, and never mapped to the asset data the client needs at handover.

02 · Naming

Five parties, five naming systems.

Nobody trusts a file called FINAL_v3, so everyone checks everything twice.

03 · BEP

The BEP is signed, then filed.

It won the tender. Nobody checks delivery against it.

04 · CDE

The CDE is a shared drive.

No work-in-progress area, no approval gate, no record of who published what.

05 · Submission

The submission comes back.

A model returned by the client's information manager costs a week of programme you did not plan for.

06 · Prequalification

The tender asks for evidence.

A giga-project wants to see how you manage information. Today the answer is a slide.

Stage 1 · The ISO 19650 stack

Five layers. Each one answers a question.

Stage 2 · Common data environment

Every container moves through four states, and only through the gates.

Example naming: Project-Originator-Volume-Level-Type-Role-Number
Stage 3 · Readiness check

How ready is your firm? Five questions.

Each answer realigns a layer of the stack. Gaps show as layers out of line. A quick self-check, not an audit: nothing is stored or sent.

Company record
On government-funded projects, EXPRO's National Manual for Project Management requires design data and drawings to come from 3D models, a BIM Manager on large projects and COBie data in IFC. Giga-projects set their own BIM requirements in their EIRs and contracts.

How we deliver

The AIM United method, applied to standards.

01

Capture

We read your contracts, templates, current CDE and last three submissions.

02

Model

We write the requirements, the BEP, the naming convention and the templates.

03

Automate

Naming, model health and IFC export checks run as scripts, not spreadsheets.

04

Deploy

We configure the CDE, train each role and support the first delivery milestone.

05

Evolve

Scheduled audits, and updates when ISO 19650 parts or the client's standards change.

Questions buyers ask

FAQ

Which projects have you run to these standards?

Lucid Motors Phase 2 in KAEC (BIM management to ISO 19650 with a BEP, LOD 400 to LOD 500 and 4D), Six Flags Qiddiya (94 buildings, LOD 400 to LOD 500), the Wadi and Gateway hotels and the Living Heritage cultural centre in Qiddiya, and the Bank AlJazira headquarters in Jeddah.

Is BIM mandatory in Saudi Arabia?

For government-funded projects, EXPRO's National Manual for Project Management requires 3D-model-based design data, a BIM Manager on large projects and COBie data in IFC. On your project, the binding requirement is the client's EIR and contract. We map it line by line to your BEP.

What is the difference between an EIR and a BEP?

The EIR is the client's side: what information they need, when, and to what standard. The BEP is the delivery team's answer: who produces it, with which tools, to which schedule. One asks; the other commits.

Do you work to giga-project standards (EIR, BEP, ISO 19650)?

Yes. We write and review BEPs against client EIRs, set up naming and CDE workflows to the client's standard, and prepare the evidence prequalification teams ask for. AIM United is certified to ISO 19650.

Are you ISO 19650 certified?

Yes. AIM United is certified to ISO 19650 for information management, alongside ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 41001. If a tender asks for the certificates, we send them with the prequalification pack.

Which CDE platforms do you set up?

Autodesk Construction Cloud, Aconex and ProjectWise, or a SharePoint-based CDE for smaller teams. The states, gates and naming stay the same; only the platform changes.
